The January discussion will look at the process of dehumanization of a population and especially its children.  Professor john powell indicates that dehumanization is the route to moral exclusion and the denial of basic human protections to a group or its members.  We will discuss some of the mechanisms that are still in play that cause so many children of color to be seen and treated as “less than” and the impact it has on those children and all of us.
